 Bakers & Bloggers Boozy Baking Competition


To kick-off the fun and excitement of SoFlo Cake and Candy Expo, this year we're putting together a friendly competition that pairs up home bakers and some of Miami's favorite media and bloggers.

The 'Bakers & Bloggers Boozy Baking' Competition will take place with two preliminary rounds made up of 4 teams - each team will consist of a home baker and a blogger. The winning teams from each round will then go on to face each other in the final round.

The winning team will receive a private baking class for them and their friends to be hosted a Sweet Life Cake and Candy Supply!

Students will learn not only how to create an amazing 3D character that can be adjusted to any specific profession but also, how to build and create a strong structure support system using steel pipes that can be adjusted to any position.  Sculpting and painting techniques will be part of the class where student will be exposed to work with different mediums such as fondant, modeling chocolate and colors in powder and gel form.  Tools will be provided to use at the class. 



How to build strong structure support systems with pipes, carving and/or sculpting. Proper use of colors. How to create face expressions for cartoons, managing different edible mediums.



Mini Deep Dish Pizza Cake

Hungry for a cake structure class? With this Deep Dish Pizza you will learn a basic structure that will wow yourself and the guest at the party. Learn how to create a realistic pizza cake with a suspended (gravity defining) slice. In this hands on class you will learn how to recreate some of your favorite toppings and the cheesy goodness of this traditional 8” deep dish personal pizza pie.



This class will cover gravity defining structure, fondant sculpting, cake sculpting, hand painting and dusting, faux food techniques, modeling chocolate techniques. All Supplies Provided!



Gone Fishin'

Day: Friday

Time: 10:00 - 6:00

Length: 7 hours

Price: $365 + Processing Fee

Materials: All Materials Included


Detailed Class Description: Students will learn how to create a hanging fish cakeusing an armature that can be adapted for any cake design. Students will also learn proportion and how to sculpt using a template. We will go over different mediums and when to use each as well as applying realistic texture, coloring, and sheen to your final piece.



             Hanging Structure, Proportion/How to Create a Template, Cake Carving 101, Ganaching and Covering Odd Shapes, Realistic Textures/Coloring, Isomalt/Fondant/Buttercream Water Effects


**Each student is required to bring an airbrush machine for class.
